Wow, what a week! I was fortunate enough to spend some time playing golf in Hilton Head, South Carolina last week, it was pretty spectacular!! We played a couple of wonderful golf courses (May River, Kiawah Island, Colleton River to name few) and also played at Harbour Town, where the RBC Heritage will be held on the USPGA Tour this week - see my video of my tee shot on the 18th tee at Harbour Town below & please no comments about the trousers! I also had my first ever baseball lesson with a Professional baseball coach. But the highlight has to be finishing the trip with a visit to Augusta National to watch the first round of this year's Masters, as they say in South Carolina… 'awesome y'all!'.
The whole experience of walking around Augusta National was quite surreal, having watched the tournament for so many years on TV and then to be finally be there was definitely one chalked off the bucket list. The TV coverage doesn't do the course justice, it really is that perfect, the fairways are wide and the greens are challenging to say the least and then there's the change in elevation, I'll never complain walking up the 17th hole at Tyrrells again, it doesn't compare to a few holes at Augusta!! We walked all 18 holes and then settled down around Amen Corner and the 14th tee to watch the field come through. We also got to see the eventual Champion Bubba Watson hit an impressive drive on the 14th hole. It was a fantastic experience and will live long in the memory banks
If you fancy a fantastic golfing holiday then I can't recommend visiting Hilton Head enough.
