Greetings golfers,

With Rob away on holiday for a couple of weeks, Chris and I are holding the fort. I've had a good couple of weeks; I played my final WPGA one day series event of 2016 at South Herts, became an auntie and passed the field based assessment for my level 3 coaching certificate all within a couple of days. 

Last week I got to go back home to Colchester and meet my new nephew Freddie for the first time. He may only be a week old but he is already the owner of a US Kids First Club, it's bigger than he is at the moment but I'm sure he'll grow in to it! My brother has already got him a mini football so he's set to be quite the little sportsman. 


 

As we are coming to the end of August my thoughts are already turning to my autumn coaching groups. It's been a good summer of coaching, I tried lots of different formats and ideas this year and I already have some really exciting ideas for coaching groups for next season. 

I still have a couple of summer coaching opportunities -

Junior Golf Passport Summer Camp - Tuesday 30th August 1pm - 4pm 

Coaching suitable for juniors aged 5-10, the Junior Golf Passport is an initiative endorsed by the Golf Foundation and the PGA. Summer camps are a great introduction to the Junior Golf Passport; we cover all aspects of the game through fun games based coaching. All equipment can be provided and refreshments will be supplied 
£20 per child 

*NEW* Junior Golf Passport Weekly Group 

Starting in September the Junior Golf Passport is a great way to introduce your children and grandchildren to the game of golf. Like the summer camps, golf skills and general movement skills are taught through fun games and activities. Juniors also receive a passport booklet to record their progress. 

Saturday 3rd September - Saturday 8th October
9am - 10am - Ages 5 - 7 
10am - 11am - Ages 8 - 10 
£50 per child for the 6 weeks 

*NEW* Seniors Putting Group - Monday 5th September - Monday 26th September 

Seniors if your putting is giving away needless shots and sapping your confidence this 4 week putting course is for you! 

The 4 weeks cover - putting technique, short putts, long putts, reading the green and tiered greens. 

£40 for the full 4 weeks or £12 per session

Warren League Update from Steve Thorn 

Tyrrells have had 2 recent matches in the Warren League. We unfortunately lost 3-1 away at Coombe Wood on 23 July, but won our home fixture 4-0 against Croham Hurst on 13th August. 

Now to the important news, Team Tyrrells finished runners up in the Red division behind Coombe Wood, which means we have qualified for the semi-finals, details of which to follow. 

I would like to thank all those who have represented Tyrrells in the campaign so far.
