It's good to be back
We set off to the south of France for our summer family holiday. Nicky's parents have owned a house in the small village of Verfeuil, northern Provence, for over 30 years. It was where her family spent all of their summers when they were growing up. We decided to drive the 728 miles and so split the journey on the way down, staying at a fantastic campsite just south of Dijon for a couple of nights and then onto the house.
Overall the holiday was tres bien and we all had a fantastic time, the weather was perfect and it's a great place to stay with lots to do - see Freddie's video here. The pretty village of Goudarges is just a 10-minute drive away which is full of cafes, shops, restaurants and a lively market once a week. It also has a river running through the centre of the town - I'm going to miss our trips there most mornings for our café crème and croissant! I really enjoyed spending some quality time with my family. Even the numpty lorry driver who decided to bring down a bridge and close the M20 didn't spoil it!
Don't forget this week is your last chance to win some FREE Titleist golf balls as our Club Stableford is sponsored by the #1 golf ball manufacturer, Titleist. The challenge is simple:
Purchase a dozen Titleist golf balls up-to 7 days before the competition
Beat your handicap in the Medal
We'll give you another dozen golf balls for FREE
It's that easy, best of luck to all competitors!
Progress is impossible without change
Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds, cannot change anything - George Bernard Shaw
In other words - if you want something you have never had you have to do things you have never done. This goes for anything really, if you want to be stronger, healthier and slimmer then you have to change something about your lifestyle and commit to it to see results. Golf is no different. If I want to play off a lower handicap, be a better putter or hit it 10 yards further off the tee, I have to do something different.
So often I hear golfers talk about their game and describe how they're playing loads of golf, multiple times a week, but never get any better. Everyone, once in a while, will have one of 'those' days where everything goes right and you have a career best score.
But is this real improvement or just a fluke?
Ask yourself do I know what I need to do to be better? Do you have a goal and a plan of how you are going to get to your target?
If you were serious about losing weight and being healthier, you would have to change something about your lifestyle. That might be cutting out fast food, alcohol or sugar. You couldn't expect to see results in how you look and feel if you carried on eating and drinking the same as you have always done. This is where many golfers fall down; you know you want to be better but you go out and play doing the same thing every time but expecting a better result.
If you are unsure about how to go about improving you game, why not come in for a 60-minute game assessment? The assessment includes:
