Tyrrells Wood held its Club Championship last weekend with competitors playing 36 holes in glorious sunshine. The top 80 and ties made the cut for the final round on Sunday with 15 golfers within 6 shots of the first round leader David Orpin (74). After a keenly contested final round the Pro Shops very own, Chris Olney came out on top with an excellent 2nd round of (73) winning by 4 shots from 16 time Club Champion, Paul Earl.
Chris also picked up the Clayton Cup in the process, the prize for the best nett score over the weekend. I'm pretty sure we was out celebrating his success as the following day he arrived at work to open up the shop, only to realise he'd left his keys at home! Thanks must go to everyone who made this weekend a success, especially to Paul and his team, who did a wonderful job preparing the golf course.

The scratch competition, the Gordon Cup is being played for over this weekend. Reigning Club Champion, Claire Olney (yes Chris' younger sister) will be hoping to regain the title.
