New short game area perfect for coaching
This week I started 2 new group classes, short game with the seniors and bunkers with the ladies. These are the first groups I have done using the new practice area. The new facility makes it so much easier to practice a real variety of shots. It’s so easy to stand on the practice ground with a tube of balls and hit the same shot, from the same lie, over and over again. The problem with this is that it doesn’t reflect the reality of when you are on the golf course. We never get the same shot or the same lie twice. When practicing on the short game area, try and give yourself a variety of shots. With each shot vary the distance, the shot type (i.e high lofted vs bump & run) and the lie (fairway & rough). Don’t go easy on yourself with the lie either! Drop the ball and play it from where it lies, we don’t get to improve the lie on the course. You learn how to deal with tricky lies much easier if you practice from them. I still have spaces available in my seniors short game group over the next few weeks:
