The Open Championship
This week sees the Open Championship return to Royal Liverpool. It should be another fantastic championship with so many good golfers now in the running. It's great to see Justin Rose on top form! Tiger also makes his return to the UK with no form what so ever but having won at Royal Liverpool last time out he couldn't possible win again….could he??
The reigning Open Champion & Champion Golfer of the Year (I love that title!) Phil Mickelson looks to win back to back Opens. I have always been a big fan of Phil but I have to say he went up in my estimations when I heard after winning last year one of his friends poured a bottle of 1990 Romanee-Conti (a $40,000 bottle of wine!!) into the Claret Jug. I wish I had friends like Phil!
My picks for the week are Adam Scott & Rickie Fowler. Jo has thrown Thorbjorn Olesen into the hat as well for an each way bet!
Mens Invitation
On Sunday 3rd August Tyrrells Wood will be hosting its Mens Invitation. The format this year is an 18 hole betterball competition. The entry fee is just £60 per pair and includes coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, 18 holes of golf followed by a 3 course carvery lunch and a prize table.
