McIlroy wins his fourth Major
Last week saw Rory win his third successive golf tournament with a one shot victory in the final Major of the year, the USPGA Championship. With the back nine filled with drama Rory emerged from a four man race to outlast Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler & Henrik Stenson, and the darkness to capture his second straight Major. If like me you managed to stay up to watch it, I'm sure you weren't disappointed.
Congratulations to our sweepstake winners:
1st Rory McIlroy - Stuart LaFrenais wins a Tyrrells Wood crested jumper & shirt
2nd Phil Mickelson - Paul Sheather (again!) wins a Tyrrells Wood crested holdall
3rd Rickie Fowler - Peter Robertson wins a Tyrrells Wood crested shoe bag
3rd Henrik Stenson - Steve Marrion wins a Tyrrells Wood crested shoe bag
Your prizes are waiting for you in the Pro Shop.
Stevenson Cup
Last Friday saw Vice-Captain Nigel Jupp & Jo play in their first Stevenson Cup against Allan Chisholm & Mario Viscione. After a close front 9, Allan & Mario won four holes in a row from the 11th (including two gross birdies on the 12th & 13th) for a 5&3 victory.
