Speaking of back to school.
I thought I’d turn our intentions back to some basics in golf. As you all know, I’m not a fan of the latest manufactures’ claims that their clubs will make dramatic differences that will improve our games. However I am a massive fan of getting the right information to you, the golfer to help you improve. So let’s make a start and talk about the most common shot shape I tend to see: a slice off the tee, for a right hander it’s a shot that curves to the right in the air. I hear many weird and wonderful ideas of how to correct it.
The thing is, as long as the strike was reasonable it’s caused by one simple fact. At impact, your club face is pointing too far to the right in relation to your club path. That’s it, it really is that simple. If you change that you’ll stop slicing the ball – fact!
But to improve this we need to know exactly what your club path and face are doing. That’s where we come in. Using modern technology such as our GCQuad launch monitor we can accurately measure your path and face positions, please don’t be scared or put off by using our Swing Studio. It really has made a massive difference into how simple it is to improve a slice. Over the next few weeks I’ll cover some more golfing myths regarding a slice but if you’d like to start controlling the direction of your shots then please contact me today to get started.
