Stop the slice... Over the past few weeks I’ve been writing a lot about a slice and what causes the ball to curve to the right. It’s a shot we see so many players struggle with which is a real shame because it’s only caused by three possible things. It really can be that simple. Please click here and watch my short video this week that hopefully explains one of them. And as always, if you’d like some help straightening out your shots then please come and see us or click here to get in touch. With the technology that’s now available in our Swing Studio it’s much simpler than you think. |

Cameron Cup Update Our Captain and Pro Challenges are coming thick and fast at the moment as we near the end of Alan’s Captain's year. Last week we faced another tough match in some windy conditions against Dave Norman and Andrew Ford. Dave made the perfect start with a birdie on the 1st, Alan and I fought back only for Dave to make another birdie (nett eagle) on the 8th and after the front nine we were all square. I think it’s fair to say I struggled a little on the back nine, but thankfully Alan was up for the challenge making three excellent up and downs in a row from the 12th to keep us in the match. Andrew made a very solid three nett on the 16th followed by Dave’s four nett three on the 17th to win both holes. We stood on the 18th tee one down, things weren’t looking good. Thankfully my par was good enough to win the hole and the match finished all square. It was extremely close with only one hole in the match all day... Even Andrew’s matching outfit wasn’t enough to put us off! It was a very enjoyable match with great company and a generous donation to Alan’s charity, thank you chaps. I think Andrew summed up the match perfectly later on…

"I have been replaying the game in my mind and came to the conclusion that both Alan and David deserved to be on the winning team, but that neither you nor I were good enough to get them over the line. It's a good job you and I weren't playing together." I can’t argue with that, back to my practice for me. |
Madrid Trip On Sunday I flew out to Madrid to deliver a training day to Spanish PGA Professionals. The love.golf programme that has been so successful in the UK is branching out into Spain and I was asked to go and help deliver the training. It was a great experience. I had to demonstrate a short game session to the group, I’ve never had to coach with a translator before! The group were so enthusiastic and positive about growing women’s golf; it will be great to see how their pilot projects go over the next few months. |

Sunday, 14 October Many congratulations to Karl Warren who won the Peter Earle Masters in some style finishing seven shots clear of the field. Karl, playing off eight, shot a one over par round which is pretty impressive on its own, but if you then factor in how awful the weather was, it really was a brilliant round of golf. Please click here for the full results. Also playing in the terrible weather, congratulations to Dee O’Reilly who won the Ladies Medal on Sunday. Please click here for the full results. In fact congratulations to anyone who braved it out there on Sunday! |

Warren League Final Report – By Steve Thorn On a bright and blustery day a Kingswood, we took on our near neighbours from Leatherhead.Match one saw Steve Thorn & Gilbert Gehrmann earn a hard fought halve, with the highlight being an eagle two by Gilbert on the long 16th. Unfortunately the other four matches didn’t fare as well, with the final result being 4.5 – 0.5 in Leatherheads favour. I would like to take this opportunity in thanking all those who represented Tyrrells Wood Golf Club in this year's campaign. Bring on next year, I will be keeping my eye out for all you 20 handicap players, who hit the ball 300 yards and have the touch of a magician round the greens. Steve |

When you step onto the tee with a driver in hand, there are two thoughts in most golfers' minds: "Hit it far, and hit it straight". Both of these were easier said than done, until Titleist released its new TS2 and TS3 drivers earlier this year... |
Both of these drivers are designed to bring more speed to your game, which results in greater distance. It's as simple as that. The Titleist TS2 is all about forgiveness. In fact, it has the highest MOI that Titleist has ever produced, which means it's more resistant to twisting at impact, for longer and straighter shots. However, if you have a consistent miss with your drives, the TS3 will be perfect for you as we can set it up to counter your destructive shot. With two models to choose from, it's more important than ever to come and see us for a custom fitting. What numbers will you be putting up on the Titleist board? |
