Welcome to this week's newsletter, bringing you all the latest news from the club, competition results, pro shop news. Enjoy the read. |
Didn't all go to plan...
Well the decent weather didn’t last too long, and we were back to winter mitts, waterproofs and a bobble hat by the weekend - hopefully we’re over the worst of it now. |
Now as I’m sure you’ll know it was Pancake Day on Tuesday and with two young boys at home Freddie and Jack were just a little excited.
We managed to hold them off until Jack got back from his swimming lessons. We then cooked a mountain of delicious pancakes; all was going well until the very last pancake, as you can see from the picture. At least the dog enjoyed one as well.
Time for a new frying pan me thinks.

Manage your expectations
Now I hope your putting, or at least your expectation of your putting, has improved following last week’s newsletter. I’ve had quite a few conversations about the results. Tour Pros really do only hole 50% of 8 foot putts! TV coverage doesn’t represent how the whole field are playing; it tends to show the best 5% of players who are playing better than everyone else that week. |
Trade-in, trade up
There’s never been a better time to treat yourself to a brand new golf bag. We are currently offering £20 OFF the price of a bag when you trade-in your old one.
In stock right now are cart and trolley bags from Motocaddy, Callaway, Titleist, PING and Lynx, please come in and have a look at our biggest range ever. |

Experience the new grip sensation Have you ever replaced the grips on your clubs before? If you have, then you'll remember how much better it felt to hold onto brand new grips over the ball than old, tacky ones. If you haven't, it could be harming your scores and ability to swing with confidence.
Right now, we have a fantastic promotion running in-store where you can get your 7-iron regripped for FREE! All you need to decide is whether you want a Golf Pride ALIGN grip or a CP2 Wrap. Decisions, decisions. |

New balls anyone?
The golf ball market can be a very messy one. There seems to be lots of choice without a very clear understanding of what the differences are. However, this week we took delivery of a new golf ball that I do understand!
It’s from Callaway and called the ERC Soft. It’s going to rival the ever popular Srixon AD333 but the thing I like the most about the ball, and to be honest, the only reason I’ve chosen to stock it, is what Callaway call Triple Track Technology.
|
The ball comes with 3 clear lines printed on it and will really help with your alignment and your putting stroke. Pop in and pick up a sleeve or two this week, they’re well worth a try. Just ask Open Champion, Francesco Molinari who has just signed up to a full playing contract with Callaway.

Sunday 3rd March
Very well played Paul Earl who won the Club Stableford with 34 points in some truly awful playing conditions. Stuart Harper finished in second place with 33, clearly my round with Stuart the day before must’ve inspired him?

Well played Christine Mills and Allyson Local who braved the awful conditions in the afternoon.

Driver technology continues to be the hot topic of conversation in the golfing world, as brands search for ways of giving us more forgiveness, greater distance and better accuracy off the tee. So, which drivers are really pushing the boundaries this year? |
Introducing G410 Plus from PING The first thing you'll notice on the G410 Plus driver is its Moveable-Weight technology on the back perimeter of the club (seen above). This allows us to custom fit you into one of three positions - draw, neutral and fade - which will promote a left, neutral or right shot direction to cancel out your destructive miss. What does that mean? Well, quite simply, more fairways hit! Finding the right club for you can be a serious game-changer and sure-fire way of lowering your scores, and the best way of doing this is by taking advantage of our professional advice during an eye-opening custom fitting. |
