Stevenson Cup update from Chris On Wednesday 24th April, the vice-Captain Chris Harland and I took on our first challenge of the year, hoping to get off to a solid start. It wasn’t going be easy however, as we were up against a tough pairing of Andrew Ford and Gideon September. Chris and I got off to the worst possible start after some excellent golf by both Andy and Gideon early on put them 5 Up through the first 5 holes! We did manage a half on the 6th however, and a rare win on the 7th, but it would be short lived as Andy and Gideon restored their 5 up advantage at the turn. Chris and I tried our best on the back nine to salvage something, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be as we were eventually well beaten on the 13th hole by a 6&5 margin. It was a bad day at the office for Chris and I. But full credit to both Andy and Gideon who played some superb golf throughout and thoroughly deserved their victory. Well played gents! I would also like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their generous donations to the Captain’s Charity.
