With the weather now changing and winter rules in play, I think it's fair to say the summer is definitely over! After changing the clocks at the weekend the thought of an extra hour in bed was quashed by a four year old at 5am! The golf course is still in great condition and Paul and his team have started their winter projects, the first of which has been the re-design of the ninth tee. It was turfed this week and looks three times the size of the old tee.
Our Top Tips for Playing Good Golf this Winter
JO
Wear the right gear - It's all about the layers and especially a base layer! The latest fabrics are fantastic at keeping you warm on the coldest of days. For more information on these please click here. An extra pair of socks, a winter hat and mitts with hand warmers are a must!
CHRIS
The ball doesn't travel as far in the cold weather so be smart with your club selection. In windy conditions, taking a couple of extra clubs and playing a punch shot can be a much easier shot to play.
ROB
Be realistic, you're probably not going to shoot a course record when it's minus 10 outside and the greens are covered in frost. So enjoy the winter, it's a great time of year to make some adjustments to your game. Setting appropriate goals before you venture out onto the golf course is essential. What have you got to lose?

Cameron Cup Update
This Sunday, the Captain and I were challenged by Andrew Ford and Dave Norman. It was a very close front nine, which included Mr Ford attempting to hit a chip shot on the second hole without any feet on the ground, which had me in tears! To be fair, he did extremely well to make contact with the ball and then managed to up & down it with the next chip! However, the class came through with the Captain and I managing to edge clear to a 2&1 win.
Our second challenge of the week was played in the rain on Wednesday against Rob Cullen and Ken Drew. In a very close match, we were all square after 15 holes when Ken made an excellent birdie on 16 to go one up after which Rob made a great up and down on the last to win the match one up.
Stevenson Cup Update
The Vice-Captain, Nigel Jupp, and Jo were challenged by Jamil Chughtai and Rik Andrew last week. Unfortunately for them, they caught Jamil and Rik in fine form who ran out 5&3 winners.
