Welcome to this week's newsletter.
What a weekend of sport we were blessed with last weekend. The Grand Prix, Wimbledon and, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the biggest cricket fan but, even I sat down late Sunday afternoon to watch the Cricket World Cup Final and I wasn’t disappointed. What a game. You had to feel for New Zealand. I was even more impressed with how the game was played and handled by the players. This was highlighted for me when in the last over of the match Ben Stokes unleashed another drive heading for the boundary only to be caught by Trent Boult. Trent was so close to the boundary that immediately after catching the ball he stepped on it and immediately he tried to throw the ball to another fielder but it was too late, six runs were scored. The fielder, Martin Guptill simply signalled to everyone that it had gone for a six and picked up his team mate and got on with the game, pure class. Unfortunately something you’d never see in a game of football.
