Stevenson Cup report from Chris Last Wednesday saw the Vice Captain and I take on our third challenge of the year. This time we were up against Pete Hannant & Colin Jenner.
We got off to a poor start after, Pete’s birdie on the 1st, quickly followed by Colin’s 4 nett 3 on the 2nd, so we found ourselves 2 down through 2. But Chris and I then won the next two holes to restore parity. After some good golf from both teams on the front nine seeing only 2 halved holes, the Vice Captain and I found ourselves 1 down at the turn. We would lose the 11th to fall 2 down, before the Vice Captain’s outrageous chip in from the right hand side of the 12th saw us win the hole when it looked certain we would lose it. We thought that it would inspire a comeback, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Some excellent play from both Pete and Colin saw them close out the match on the 17th for a 3&1 victory. I would like to thank both Pete and Colin for both their pleasant company and also for their generous donations to the Captain’s Charity. Well played gents!
