What a week it’s been?
Just when you think we’re getting over the worst weather over the winter months, COVID-19 shows its ugly face around the World, it’s all very surreal. I’ve never paid so much attention to the news and Government press conferences. With the latest restrictions on bars, restaurants, cinemas and other social venues, the club has cancelled all clubhouse events which will have a dramatic impact on the Club as a whole. The golf course is open, with the irony of our Tuesday course status – No Restrictions. If you’re playing golf please follow these simple player responsibilities to help keep everyone safe on the course:
- Forego the traditional 1st & 18th hole handshakes – elbow bumps or club taps work just as well - Put hand sanitizer in your bag and use it regularly - Adhere to the practice of ‘social distancing’ keeping to a minimum of 6 feet from your playing partners throughout the round - Keep the flagstick in the hole at all times - Or use a ball pick up to get your golf ball out of the hole - Only you should be handling your own golf clubs. Understand that the courtesy of grabbing or holding a partner’s club for them is one of those practices that should be placed on hold for now
Please let me know if you have other tips that will help your fellow golfers on the course.
And so, at the time of writing the Pro Shop is currently open but in this uncertain time guidelines can change quickly as so please check your inbox, our website and social medial for updates. However, we will remain open for as long as possible. I recognise these are extremely unsettling times and would like to thank you for your continued support and on a personal note, I hope that you and your loved ones stay safe.
