Welcome to this week's newsletter.
I hope you’re all keeping well, it’s not long to go now before we can get on the golf course again. Chris and I will be in the Pro Shop from the 29th March, with the front doors closed unfortunately but if you do need anything golf related please let us know or knock on the back door for our 'click and collect' service. Now to help get your game in top shape (or any shape for that matter) I have five bad habits for you to avoid to help you play your best when you tee it up next.
- Not warming up before your round
- Expecting too much from yourself
- Not taking enough club
- Standing over the ball for too long
- Not playing enough break on your putts
I wonder how many of these relate to you? If that's not enough, then this great quote from Jack Nicklaus and lets face it, he knew a thing or two about how to play this game well: "Success depends almost entirely on how effectively you learn to manage the games two ultimate adversaries: the course and yourself" - Jack Nicklaus
Back at Tyrrells our Course Manager Craig and his team have done an excellent job, especially moving forward our major course maintenance of the year so that it doesn’t effect golf when we re-open. Speaking of which, I'm asking all members playing to do YOUR PART and make sure you repair every single pitch mark you see. The course hasn't been played on for months and when we re-open it will be members only playing and so we have no excuses to keep our playing surfaces up to the highest possible standards. Take care, keep safe and I loak forward to seeing you all very soon Rob. |
