Fitting day success

Thank you to everyone who took part in our PING Fitting Day on Monday. Jack, PING’s finest technician was on hand to look after everyone on the day making some impressive gains especially with the new G425 range.

Golf on Tour

They say ‘when it rains, it pours’ and Max Kieffer was soaked after sticking three balls in the water on the fifth play-off hole of the European Tour’s Austrian Open. America’s John Catlin proceeded to lift his third trophy in 13 European Tour starts.

On the LPGA Tour, former World No. 1 Lydia Ko stormed her way back into the winning circle with a seven-stroke victory at the Lotte Championship. An emphatic -28 winning score ended the New Zealander’s three-year winless run. We can only wonder what’s to come!

Trailblazing trolleys

I’m sure Tour players appreciate their caddies but they can’t fold their caddies up into a small frame and put them in the boot of the car, can they? Well, they haven’t got everything after all then! The benefits of GPS devices

We can expect to hear plenty of chatter over the next month about the use of distance-measuring devices at the upcoming PGA Championship. Whilst we'll no doubt see the pros using laser rangefinders at Kiawah Island, GPS watches are also incredibly useful out on the golf course.

Have a think about this question:

Do you tend to miss the green short or long?

GPS devices give you a way of measuring the shot at hand quickly and accurately. As amateur golfers, we tend to come up short when we miss the green - not including left or right - and that starts with not knowing how far we have to the front of the green.

This is where Garmin's GPS devices are so important. Gone are the days where the only way to get the distance left is to pace from the 150-yard marker to our ball.
