New Captain
Nigel Jupp drove into office at the weekend. Nigel (a keen rugby fan) hit a perfect tee shot from the 10th hole in front of lots of members. Now, I'm sure he won't mind me telling you this, but we played in the annual 9 hole challenge beforehand with the Past Captain Chris Luke and new Vice-Captain Stuart Jackson. It is safe to say Nigel didn't hit anything like that all morning!!!! Clearly Bob Sullivan had faith in him as he predicted exactly where Nigel's drive would finish, winning a bottle of champagne in the process. Thanks to everyone who took part in the Drive-In, you helped raise nearly
£200!
Last week saw Chris Luke and I play our last Cameron Cup Challenge. We were up against Martyn Jones and Steve Grimshaw and the way these two started, we were clearly in for a big challenge. This was highlighted on the 14th, where I made a birdie three and lost the hole to Steve!!! We were doing well to be three down with three to play when we managed to win the last three holes to finish our final match all square on the 18th green. It's been a great pleasure playing with Chris in these matches.
Not content with winning the Friday Boys last week, the incoming Vice-Captain, Stuart Jackson, continued his good form with a hole-in-one on the 16th hole during the Monday Boys! Well done Stuart and thanks for the drink!!
