Good morning golfers,
I can't wait for The Open to start this week. It's a fantastic tournament and being held at the 'home of golf' makes it that little bit extra special. As for who will win the Claret Jug this year, it's hard to see past Jordan Spieth who won again last week. Can he complete the third leg of a season Grand Slam? As for our picks in the shop:
Jo picked Rickie Fowler
Chris chose Dustin Johnson
Roger (our Starter) went for Paul Casey
I'm going for Jason Day and Tommy Fleetwood as an each-way bet
Pro's Day is open to 5-day members - Sign up now!
I still have places available for my Pro's Day on Saturday, 1 August. I've arranged for a company - Vintage Golf Days - to look after us for the day. The format on the day will be:
7:45am - Coffee and full English breakfast on arrival
8:30am - Introductions, format, brief history and clubs
9:00am - Shotgun start for nine-hole pairs scramble competition
11:30am - Prizegiving
The entry fee is £10 per pair, with each pair being provided with a set of hickory clubs to share. Entry is open to ladies and men 5, 6, 6 and a half & 7 day members. Outfits are optional unless you work in the pro shop! You don't need to sign up as a pair, just put your name on the start sheet and anyone can join you.
