The captain and pro keep their 100% record
Okay, so we've only played ONE game, but hey, I'm going to milk it for all it's worth! Last Sunday saw a very close match against Grant Buxton and Adam Wieckowski with myself and the captain eventually winning 2up. Grant played very well all day but with the captain making four straight pars to start the match and me making a few birdies, with one on the last hole, we managed to sneak a win. Many thanks to Grant and Adam for an enjoyable match and also for their very generous donation to the captain's charity, The Wooden Spoon. Our next match is against Gary Dunford and Brent Hearne on Sunday, 15 November…… Watch this space!
Many congratulations to Beverlee Edwards who was not content with winning the Past Lady Captains' Trophy last week, so she went and won the Straton-Ferrier Trophy the following day! Hopefully those new Callaway hybrids are working well, Bev!
Putt for dough!
As you may have read, I was the odd out last week as Chris and Jo had ordered some nice new shoes, so this week it was my turn. My new PING Ketsch putter arrived and went straight into the bag. I've always been a fan of the mallet design of putter but had struggled to find one with the correct 'face balance' to suit my stroke. Judging on my recent rounds, just ask Adam and Grant (it rolls end over end, Grant!), it could be in there for quite some time.

Some very sad news
It was with much sadness that I learnt the news that Tyrrells member Rupert Hoyle passed away this week. He was 76-years-old and had fought Myeloma bravely for many years.
