It's been a busy week in the world of golf. Rory McIlroy won the Race to Dubai having played in the bear minimum events to do so, a pretty impressive feat. Speaking of which, teenager Lydia Ko held off Inbee Park & Lexi Thompson to win the $1million Race to CME Globe title for the second year.
Sadly Tyrrells Woods' Gary King just missed out on automatic qualification to the European Tour by a single shot! The good news is he has a full card for the Challenge Tour and should receive a few invites to a couple of European Tour events as well. I'm sure you'll join me in wishing him all the very best for next season.
Golfers wanted
How would you like to try some of the very latest golf equipment on the market? For a limited time I have exclusive access to a couple of fantastic drivers from Srixon. They use the very latest technology, are super light and should help add a few precious yards to your drives. We're looking for two volunteers (a lady and a gent please) who would like to be our testers and review the drivers in a couple of weeks' time.
Please click here to volunteer.
Did the Captain and Pro keep their 100% record?
Last Sunday saw the Captain and me take on the formidable pair of Gary Dunford and Brent Hearne in our latest Cameron Cup Challenge. It was an extremely cold day with the golf course pretty frosty, but being brave little soldiers we ventured on. Brent had unfortunately injured his back during the week and wasn't quite 100% but Gary more than made up for it, it took two birdies on the 16th & 17th holes from me to close the match out 2up…… Phew!
Damian Connolly and Les Goodall are up next on Sunday, 6 December.
Marie Munt is our new Lady Captain
Last week saw Marie Munt take over from Noreen Kelland to become our new Lady Captain at Tyrrells Wood. I'm sure you'll join me in wishing Marie all the very best for her year and to thank Noreen for her time and efforts - enjoy some well-earned rest, Noreen!
